Description:
Sakai Takayuki is one of the most renowned names among knife collectors and culinary professionals, with a heritage of over 600 years in knife-making rooted in Sakai, Osaka. Since the 16th century, Sakai blacksmiths have been producing blades originally intended for tobacco cutting, and today, their craftsmanship is revered worldwide.
This blade is hand-forged by Itsuo Doi, son of the legendary blacksmith Keijiro Doi, whose family has been producing some of the finest Japanese knives for more than 70 years. Each knife proudly features the Doi family emblem, engraved near the logo as a symbol of authenticity and excellence.
The “Guren” (Red Lotus) series draws its name and inspiration from the brilliant red flames of pine charcoal used in the Doi family forge, symbolizing passion, artistry, and tradition in every handmade blade.
