Description:
Sakai Takayuki is among the most respected names in the world of Japanese knives, with over 600 years of tradition rooted in Sakai, Osaka. The workshop began in the 16th century, producing knives for cutting and trimming tobacco, and has since become one of Japan’s most celebrated knife makers.
This knife is hand-forged by Itsuo Doi, son of the legendary blacksmith Keijiro Doi, whose family has produced some of Japan’s finest blades for over 70 years. Each piece carries Mr. Doi’s family emblem, engraved near the logo as a mark of authenticity and craftsmanship.
The “Guren” (Red Lotus) series is inspired by the fiery red glow of pine charcoal burning in the Doi family forge, symbolizing both tradition and the passionate artistry behind every handmade blade.
