Description
Sakai Takayuki Guren Kengata Gyuto 225mm – Aogami #2 (Model No. 1187)
Description:
Sakai Takayuki is one of the most renowned names among knife enthusiasts and collectors worldwide. Founded in Sakai (Osaka), the brand carries a history of over 600 years of knife-making tradition. The workshop began producing knives in the 16th century, originally for cutting and trimming tobacco in the Sakai region.
This knife is hand-forged by Itsuo Doi, the son of the legendary blacksmith Keijiro Doi, whose family has produced some of Japan’s finest blades for over 70 years. Each blade proudly bears Mr. Doi’s family emblem, engraved near the logo as a mark of authenticity and craftsmanship.
The “Guren” (Red Lotus) series takes inspiration from the vibrant red flames produced by burning fine pine charcoal in the Doi family forge. It represents both the artistry and fiery passion behind each handcrafted piece.
