Description
Sakai Takayuki Sujihiki 240mm – 69-Layer Damascus (Model No. 7886)
Description:
Sakai Takayuki is one of the most renowned names among knife enthusiasts and collectors worldwide. Founded in Sakai, Osaka, the brand carries over 600 years of history in knife-making, starting in the 16th century when blades were first produced for trimming tobacco. Among its most celebrated blacksmiths is Itsuo Doi, grandson of the legendary Keijiro Doi, who continues the distinguished tradition of Sakai craftsmanship.
The Sujihiki—literally “flesh slicer”—is designed for smooth, effortless slicing of meat and fish. With its slim, long blade and low height, it allows you to achieve precise, clean cuts in one continuous motion, minimizing tearing and preserving the integrity of the fibers.
This blade is forged with a ZA-18 Gingami (Silver Paper Steel) core, clad in 69 layers of Damascus stainless steel, offering excellent sharpness, durability, and corrosion resistance while showcasing a stunning Damascus wave pattern. The handle is made from rare octagonal Wenge wood paired with a natural buffalo horn ferrule, combining strength, elegance, and a luxurious hand-feel.
