Description
Sakai Takayuki Sujihiki 240mm – Model No. 7397
Description:
Sakai Takayuki is one of the most renowned names among knife collectors and culinary professionals. Based in Sakai (Osaka), the brand boasts over 600 years of history in knife-making. Production began in the 16th century, initially crafting knives for cutting and trimming tobacco in the Sakai region. Among its legendary craftsmen is Itsuo Doi, grandson of the master blacksmith Keijiro Doi.
The Sujihiki, by definition, is a “meat slicer.” It is designed to slice meat as effortlessly as possible, with a low blade height and thin profile. This knife excels at making clean, precise cuts in “one slice motion”, reducing friction and preserving the quality of the meat.
The handle is made of Spanish Mahogany Pakkawood, known for its smooth feel and elegant grain. Infused with resin/epoxy, it provides superior durability, moisture resistance, and longevity—perfect for both professional kitchens and home use.
