SAKAI TAKAYUKI 33-Layer Damascus Hammered Santoku 180mm
Description
Sakai Takayuki Santoku Knife 180mm – Model No. 7392
Description:
Sakai Takayuki is one of the most renowned names among knife collectors and culinary enthusiasts worldwide. Founded in Sakai, Osaka, the company carries over 600 years of history in the art of knife-making. Production began in the 16th century, originally to craft knives for cutting and trimming tobacco. Among its legendary blacksmiths is Itsuo Doi, grandson of the famous master Keijiro Doi.
This Santoku stands out with its beautiful hammered Damascus finish and exceptional performance at a price point that makes it highly appealing in its class. Unlike the more common 170mm size, this 180mm Santoku offers a slightly larger profile for those who prefer more versatility in an all-purpose knife. Like all Sakai Takayuki knives, it is built solidly and finished elegantly, with a handle crafted from Spanish Mahogany Pakkawood.
The pakkawood material is infused with resin/epoxy, making the handle not only smooth and aesthetically pleasing but also highly durable, moisture-resistant, and resistant to warping.
