Description
Sakai Takayuki Petty Knife 120mm – Model No. 7389
Description:
Sakai Takayuki is one of the most renowned names among knife enthusiasts and collectors. Founded in Sakai (Osaka), the brand has a legacy of more than 600 years in knife-making. Since the 16th century, Sakai Takayuki has been producing knives, originally crafted for cutting and trimming tobacco in the Sakai region. Itsuo Doi, one of its most celebrated blacksmiths, was the grandson of the legendary Keijiro Doi.
This Petty Knife is a refined version of the traditional Japanese paring knife. It is ideal for handling small ingredients such as fruits, peeling, chopping, and mincing smaller items, while also serving as the perfect companion to Gyuto or Santoku knives. Like all Sakai Takayuki knives, it is sturdily built and beautifully crafted, featuring a Damascus 33-layer blade with a hammered finish and a luxurious brown pakkawood handle.
The handle is made of Spanish Mahogany Pakkawood, resin-infused with epoxy for exceptional durability, moisture resistance, and longevity. Its smooth texture and elegant color give it a premium look and feel.
