MAC Superior Series Utility Knife 180mm
Description
MAC Corporation SA-70 Flexible Fillet Knife
MAC Corporation was founded by Mr. Tasuo Kobayashi in 1965. During his studies in Chicago, he worked part-time as a chef in a local restaurant. At that time, the kitchen knives used were typical European-style knives—heavy, thick, and prone to dulling. One day, while using such a knife, it slipped from Mr. Kobayashi’s hand and fell to the kitchen floor, nearly injuring him.
After returning to Japan, Mr. Kobayashi established MAC Corporation with a design philosophy focused on sharpness, safety, precision, comfort, and superior durability. In addition to developing premium steel types, he innovated a blade design that combines double bevel (Ryoba) on one side with single bevel (Kataba) on the other, offering excellent control and sharpness for thin slicing and straight cuts.
All MAC knives are handcrafted by blacksmiths in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture. Their commitment to precision, sharpness, control, and comfort has made MAC knives highly popular among professional chefs.
