MAC MV Knife Chef Series Chef Knife 255mm
Description
MAC Corporation – Heritage & Philosophy
MAC Corporation was founded in 1965 by Mr. Tasuo Kobayashi. While studying in Chicago, Mr. Kobayashi worked part-time as a chef in a local restaurant. At that time, European-style knives were the standard in professional kitchens—heavier, thicker, and prone to dulling quickly.
One day, while cutting, his knife slipped from his hand and dropped point-first onto the kitchen floor, narrowly missing his foot.
Years later, after returning to Japan, Mr. Kobayashi established MAC Corporation with a clear design philosophy:
“Knives that are sharper, safer, precise, comfortable, and have superior durability.”
Beyond using premium steel, he pioneered a unique blade edge—combining a European-style double bevel (Ryoba) on one side and a traditional Japanese single bevel (Kataba) on the other. This exclusive design delivers both exceptional control and razor-sharp performance, making it ideal for thin slicing and perfectly straight cuts.
Every MAC knife is handcrafted by master blacksmiths in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan.
With an unwavering commitment to precision, sharpness, control, and comfort, MAC knives have become a favorite among professional chefs around the world.
