Founded in Sakai, Osaka, the brand carries over 600 years of knife-making tradition. Sakai Takayuki began producing knives in the 16th century, originally designed for cutting and trimming tobacco in the Sakai region.
One of its most legendary blacksmiths, Itsuo Doi, is the grandson of the famous master craftsman Keijiro Doi, whose work is highly regarded in Japan.
