Description
Sakai Takayuki INOX Deba 178mm – Model No. 4337
Overview
Sakai Takayuki is one of the most prestigious names among knife enthusiasts and collectors worldwide. Established in Sakai, Osaka, the brand carries over 600 years of knife-making heritage.
Their history dates back to the 16th century, when Sakai craftsmen began producing knives specifically designed for cutting and trimming tobacco leaves. Among the celebrated artisans of this legacy is Itsuo Doi, the grandson of the legendary blacksmith Keijiro Doi, known for his unmatched craftsmanship.
The Deba knife is purpose-built for filleting and butchering fish. Its thick, heavy blade makes it ideal for tasks such as breaking down fish and cutting through small bones, while maintaining precision and comfort during use.
The handle is crafted from D-shaped Japanese Magnolia Wood and fitted with a natural buffalo horn bolster—each piece unique in color due to its natural material.
