Japanese Knife Nigara Hamono Aogami Super Tsuchime Kiritsuke Gyuto 210mm
Description
Nigara Hamono – 210mm Gyuto
With a history spanning 350 years, Nigara Hamono began crafting blades for the Tsugaru clan in the early Edo period. Their knife-making knowledge and artisanal techniques have been passed down through eight generations.
The fifth-generation master, Kunitoshi Nigara, became renowned as a “legendary sword maker”, earning numerous awards for his craftsmanship.
Today, the eighth-generation blacksmith Tsuyoshi Yoshizawa leads the forge, supported by his father Toshiju Yoshizawa, whose passion for art and music heavily influences the brand’s aesthetics. The iconic Nigara Anmon pattern was inspired by Toshiju’s admiration for the works of Andy Warhol, blending traditional forging mastery with modern artistic expression.
Thanks to their metallurgical expertise and centuries-old craftsmanship, Nigara Hamono is widely recognized as one of the finest knife makers in Japan.
