Introducing Mcusta’s New Damascus Tanto — A Fusion of Tradition and Precision

We are proud to present Mcusta’s latest creation: the Mcusta Damascus Tanto, a knife inspired by the elegance and spirit of traditional Japanese tanto blades.

For expressing the essence of Japanese tradition while delivering modern performance, Mcusta selected SPG-2 Powdered High Speed Tool Steel, renowned for its exceptional sharpness and edge retention. The Damascus blade features a matte gray finish with a hammered texture (tsuchime), giving it a distinct aesthetic that reflects traditional Japanese craftsmanship.

The handle design pays homage to the wrapped hilts of classic Japanese swords. Using black leather in a tsukamaki-style wrap, the knife achieves a balance between tradition and innovation. The full-tang construction ensures durability, and the thoughtful weight and grip provide a solid, confident feel in hand.

It is a piece of functional art, where Mcusta’s precision meets the spirit of samurai heritage.
